With compassion and respect, Hospice volunteers play a vital role within the Hospice team – visiting patients and/or their families, supporting their caregivers or assisting in the Hospice office.
Bereavement Support Volunteers provide a caring presence either by phone or in person to support individuals during their grief journey.
When you commit to becoming a Hospice volunteer, you will be provided with a detailed orientations to our Hospice program in addition to learning the physical, social, emotional, and spiritual aspects of caring for a patient with an end stage illness.
You can commit as much or as little of your time as you desire as an Allied Services Hospice volunteer.
Volunteers are considered the same as employees and require the following: an application with reference checks, a Criminal Background check and a 2 step TB test.
If you are interested in becoming a Hospice volunteer and making a difference in the lives of our patients and their families you are encouraged to contact Laurie Fleming at 570-290-3285 or LFlemi@allied-services.org
