The role of a mental health worker is to help individuals with mental health diagnoses regain their independence and develop life skills that they need to be part of the community. I often hear the staff say the job is rewarding and they feel really good about the work they do especially when they see people they have built a rapport with making progress and they can share in their successes.

You’ll Grow Your Skills

As a mental health worker at Allied Services, you’ll be able to take advantage of free workplace training. For example, you’ll earn CPR and First Aid Certification, and receive training in crisis intervention, psychiatric diagnosis overview. You’ll take part in ongoing training for substance abuse and suicide prevention, and there are web-based training and opportunities to go to local training relative to the job.

You’ll Be Part of a Team

The Behavioral Health Division provides an up-beat, fast-paced work atmosphere. While the work can be challenging, you’ll be part of a team that works together to solve problems. We work as a team to coach and demonstrate life skills for the individuals in the programs. The facilities we work in are home-like and that provides a sense of community for residents and staff.
