Meet the Team: New staff at Center City Skilled Nursing

Allied Services Center City Skilled Nursing added some new members to its growing team ahead of the grand opening of its newly remodeled third and fourth floors. The nursing home will begin welcoming new patients and residents in July 2023. Residents will enjoy sweeping views of Wilkes-Barre, and tastefully remodeled amenities such as private rooms, resident dining room, private dining room, physical therapy gym, recreational areas, and outdoor seating.

Allied Services Center City Skilled Nursing earned the title of 2022-2023 Best Nursing Home for Long-Term Care from US News & World Report. Thomas Wodack, RN, Carly Novak, BHA, Cari Snyder, RD, LDN, and Elizabeth Fay, MS, CCC-SLP, recently joined the nationally-ranked care team at Center City Skilled Nursing.

Thomas Wodack, RN - Assistant Director of Nursing

Allied Services welcomed  backThomas Wodack, RN, as Assistant Director of Nursing for the health system's newly renovated Center City Skilled Nursing facility in Wilkes-Barre. Wodack received his practical nursing degree from the Career Technology Center of Lackawanna County and then pursued his nursing degree from Luzerne County Community College. Early in his career, Wodack worked as a certified nurse aide, LPN, and RN at Scranton's health systems rehabilitation hospital. Before returning to Allied Services, Wodack gained experience in the fields of acute care, skilled care, and hospice care.

Carly Novak, BHA - Admissions Liaison

Allied Services welcomed Carly Novak, BHA, as Admissions Liaison for the health system's two newly renovated Wilkes-Barre-based skilled nursing facilities, Meade Street and Center City. Novak received her Bachelor’s in Healthcare Administration from Arcadia University. Novak brings more than 13 years of experience to her role in Luzerne County. Before joining Allied Services, Novak worked in the field of skilled nursing and rehabilitation in the Greater Philadelphia area.

Cari Snyder, RD, LDN - Clinical Dietitian

Allied Services welcomed Cari Snyder, RD, LDN, as Clinical Dietitian for the health systems Meade Street and Center City facilities. Along with ensuring well-balanced and nutritious meals for all residents, Snyder also focuses on Medical Nutrition Therapy - managing certain chronic health conditions through individualized nutrition plans. Snyder received her Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics from Marywood University. Snyder brings a wealth of experience from her work in both long-term and acute care settings.

Elizabeth Fay, MS, CCC-SLP - Director of Rehab

Allied Services proudly announces Elizabeth “Beth” Fay, MS, CCC-SLP, as Director of Rehabilitation at the Center City Skilled Nursing Facility in Wilkes-Barre on 80 E. Northampton Street. Fay earned her Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Bloomsburg University and a Master’s in Speech-Language Pathology from Marywood University. Fay is also working towards certification as a Geriatric Care Provider. In addition to her role as director, Fay serves as a speech-language pathologist, addressing concerns with speech, language, cognition, and swallowing disorders.
