Social Worker Position at Allied Services Wilkes-Barre Transitional Rehab Unit
Are you a compassionate and dedicated Social Worker looking to make a meaningful impact in the lives of others? Allied Services Wilkes-Barre Transitional Rehab Unit, consistently recognized by U.S. News and World Report as one of the Best Nursing Homes for Short-Term Rehab, is seeking a part-time Social Worker to join our exceptional team.
About the Role
As a Social Worker at our Wilkes-Barre Transitional Rehab Unit, you will play a crucial role in supporting residents and their families as they navigate the challenges that can accompany illness and recovery. Under the direction of the Administrator, you will assist with personal and environmental difficulties that may interfere with residents achieving their maximum potential from medical care.
We currently have various part-time schedules available.
Your responsibilities will include assessing the needs of adult and geriatric residents, interpreting data to identify their requirements, and providing the care needed according to our Social Service Department's policies and procedures. Your ability to understand family dynamics, illness, and disability will be key to delivering the compassionate care our residents deserve.
Qualifications:
- Education: A Bachelor's degree in Social Work or a related field is required. A Master's degree is preferred.
- Experience: A minimum of two years of experience in a healthcare setting's Social Work Department is required.
- Licensure: A PA license to practice Social Work is preferred, and a valid PA Driver’s License is required for community travel.
- Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal abilities, and an understanding of family dynamics and individual needs are essential.
