Allied Services welcomed representatives from Weis Markets to its Wilkes-Barre campus to tour the John P. Moses Esq. Pediatric Rehab Center and celebrate a generous $75,000 contribution through the Neighborhood Assistance Program (NAP). This investment highlights Weis Markets’ continued commitment to supporting pediatric rehabilitation services across Northeastern Pennsylvania.
The contribution, made possible through the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development’s NAP Tax Credit Program, will directly support Allied Services’ pediatric programs, including the highly specialized Picky Eaters and Sensory Feeding Program.
This program provides essential support for children who experience feeding challenges related to sensory sensitivities, developmental delays, or medical conditions. For many families, mealtimes can be stressful and overwhelming. Through individualized therapy, Allied Services clinicians help children build trust with food, improve oral motor skills, and gradually expand their diets. These milestones are critical - not only for proper nutrition and growth, but also for a child’s independence, confidence, and overall quality of life.
Investment in programs like sensory feeding therapy is vital. Without access to this level of specialized care, many children may struggle to meet basic nutritional needs or participate in everyday routines. Community support helps ensure that families have access to early intervention and ongoing care that can significantly impact a child’s long-term development.
“We are incredibly grateful for the ongoing support of Weis Markets,” said Jim Brogna, Senior Vice President of Allied Services. “Partnerships like this allow us to continue investing in innovative pediatric programs, like our sensory feeding program, that make a real difference in the lives of children and their families. Their commitment to our mission helps ensure that every child has the opportunity to grow, thrive, and reach their full potential.”
“At Weis Markets, we believe that healthy communities start with healthy children. Supporting Allied Services' Picky Eaters and Sensory Feeding Program is an investment in the families we serve every day at our stores,” said Dennis Curtin, Director of Public Relations at Weis Markets. “This type of specialized care helps children build confidence, independence, and a healthier relationship with food - and we're proud of the assistance our company can provide to make that happen.”
Allied Services extends its sincere appreciation to Weis Markets for their generous $75,000 investment and their dedication to strengthening the health and well-being of the communities they serve.
