Rehabilitation

Rehabilitation can take place in a variety of care settings including an inpatient rehab hospital, a transitional care unit, a skilled nursing facility or personal care home, an outpatient rehab center, or at home.

Rehabilitation helps patients regain functionality, range of motion, and independence after a serious illness or injury. Patients are usually referred to a rehabilitation program by their doctor or hospital. These programs can consist of physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and other services that help patients manage or overcome disabilities.
