Allied Rehab Hospital has received the Uniform Data System for Medical rehabilitation (UDSMR) Top Performer Award for several years. Each year UDSMR compares and evaluates nearly 800 inpatient rehab providers. Key quality measures include functional improvement (defined by how well a person can get around with everyday activities) and the percentages of patients who return home after rehab. The Top Performer Award is awarded to rehab facilities whose outcomes are in the top 10 % nationwide. Allied Services Scranton Rehab Hospital is ranked in the top 1% in the nation.
In a recent national review of nursing homes, Allied Services Meade Street Skilled Nursing and Center City Skilled Nursing in Wilkes-Barre were recognized for excellence in patient care. The facility, which provides short-term rehab and long-term skilled nursing care, earned the title of 2022-2023 and 2023-2024 Best Nursing Home in the latest U.S. News and World Report.
Meade Street and Center City earned the title while also achieving the highest possible rating – High Performing – in the category of long-term care. The local non-profit skilled nursing provider ranked in the top 16% of nursing homes nationwide.
Allied Services Scranton Transitional Rehab Unit has been recognized as a 2022-23 and 2023-2024 Best Nursing Home by U.S. News & World Report. To be recognized as one of the 2022-2023 U.S. News Best Nursing Homes, a home must have been “High Performing” in short-term rehabilitation, long-term care, or both. 2,426 (16%) met those criteria out of the 15,178 nursing homes evaluated by U.S. News, of which 1,658 homes were High Performing in short-term rehabilitation, 1,103 homes were High Performing in long-term care and 335 were High Performing in both.
Allied Services Scranton Transitional Rehab Unit earned the Best Nursing Homes title by achieving a rating of “High Performing,” the highest possible rating, for Short-Term Rehabilitation.
From 2014 to date, Allied Services Wilkes-Barre Transitional Rehab Unit, Allied Services Scranton Transitional Rehab Unit have earned the area’s only five star rankings and title of the Nation’s best nursing homes, according to newly published U.S. News & World Report results. Annually, the magazine rates nearly 16,000 nursing homes, using data from the Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services. Allied Services Hospice and Palliative Care has been recognized by Strategic Healthcare Programs (SHP) as a “Superior Performer” for achieving an overall patient satisfaction score that ranked in the top 20% of all eligible SHP clients for the 2022 calendar year.
The annual SHPBest™ award program was created to acknowledge hospice providers that consistently provide high quality service to families and caregivers of patients receiving hospice care. The 2022 award recipients were determined by reviewing and ranking the overall CAHPS Hospice survey satisfaction score for more than 1,000 hospice providers. With one of the largest CAHPS Hospice benchmarks in the nation, SHP is in a unique position to identify and recognize organizations that have made family and caregiver satisfaction a priority and have been rewarded for their efforts with high marks on the CAHPS Hospice survey. the HHCAHPS survey.
Allied Services Hospice and Palliative Care has been recognized by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) as a five-star provider, an achievement that places the organization among the top 10% of all hospices in the country. Only 195 hospices out of 2,026 hospices in the United States were awarded five stars, which is the highest quality rating available from CMS. It is the only Hospice provider in Northeastern Pennsylvania to receive a five-star rating.
In August 2022, CMS released its first annual star ratings for Hospice providers based on the Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (CAHPS) Hospice Family Caregiver Survey. The surveys, which are handled by an independent vendor, assess family satisfaction with the hospice, timeliness of receiving assistance, respectful treatment while in hospice care, receipt of emotional and spiritual support, management of pain and other symptoms, and willingness to recommend the hospice to others.
As a result of the evaluations by UDSMR, Allied Rehab Hospital in Scranton came out as the top-ranked inpatient rehab facility among the 770-plus evaluated nationwide.
Allied Services Inpatient Rehab Hospitals, outpatient centers, and Home Health have all been accredited by the Joint Commission. The Joint Commission evaluates and accredits more than 18,000 health care organizations and programs in the United States. An independent, not-for-profit organization, the Joint Commission is the nation’s oldest and largest standards-setting and accrediting body in health care.
Allied Services Home Health has once again earned HomeCare Elite™ status, putting them among the top-performing home health agencies in the United States. The HomeCare Elite™ is a compilation that identifies the top 25 percent of agencies based on an analysis of performance measures. This year those measures include quality of care, quality improvement, patient experience and financial performance. This is the tenth consecutive year that Allied Services Home Health has received this award.
