The purpose of the Brain Injury Program is to provide comprehensive, compassionate, state-of-the-art rehabilitation and to provide care for individuals who have sustained brain injuries. To accomplish this goal, we have an experienced interdisciplinary team of Certified Brain Injury Specialists working together to meet all of the patient and family needs.

A brain injury presents the patient’s family with many new challenges and adjustments. The Brain Injury Program offers patient’s family members and caregivers with opportunities to receive hands-on training and education throughout the rehabilitation process.
We encourage families to become actively involved as members of the rehabilitation team to learn the best ways to promote independence and transition back to the community. Care management provides weekly updates to the family on the patient’s progress and goals.
Upon discharge, about 70% of our inpatient brain injury program patients return to their homes. However, whether a patient is able to return home depends upon the type and severity of each patient’s diagnosis and other unique circumstances. At Allied Services, we will care for you from hospital to home. You can continue your recovery with the support of our Home Health and Outpatient Rehabilitation teams.
Patients are admitted to the brain injury program at Allied Services Scranton Rehab Hospital and Wilkes-Barre Rehab Hospital when they are medically stable and determined appropriate for a rehabilitation program. Referrals may be made by a private physician, general hospital, family member, or those who have been injured themselves.
