Strokes, along with other nervous system disorders, neurological injuries, and conditions, can impair sensation, movement, and intellectual processes. The Stroke Rehab Team has a dedicated team of experienced professionals. Each individual’s treatment team is made up of the following medical professionals, based on the patient’s needs. Our rehabilitation specialists work together with the patient and their family/ support system to meet the unique physical, cognitive, social and emotional needs of the patient.

The team provides the necessary training to achieve those skills while focusing on the medical, social, emotional, spiritual and vocational needs of the patient and their family. As the patient achieves his/her goals, the team modifies the program to promote as much functional independence as able while ensuring the patient’s safety and wellbeing.
Stroke affects the whole family and so the involvement of spouses, children, and others in the patient’s support system is a vital part of recovery. Our stroke program supports this through involving them in education/training as well as peer support, involvement in support groups, and through counseling.
At Allied Services, stroke recovery does not end when a patient is discharged.

Patients are admitted on an inpatient basis to the stroke and other neurological disorders program at Allied Services rehab when they are medically stable and determined appropriate for a rehabilitation program. Referrals may be made by a private physician, general hospital, family member, or those who have been injured themselves.
